Can you help me find a die cut machine that fits my craft needs?

I am looking for a die cut machine that you can cut your own designs. I am assuming you would then need one that hooks up directly to your computer. I am into scrapbooking a little but also work at a daycare and would love something that would cut out the shapes for their craft projects and I don’t want to have to buy cartridges every week.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi-

In my opinion the cricut is the die cut machine there is. I got this from their website :

"Cricut® personal electronic cutters allow you to get amazing creative results with the touch of a button. Cricut machines with the cricut cartridges cut beautiful designs and alphabets for card making, home decor, scrapbooking, paper crafting, and more. Imagine the projects you can create with Cricut. Your results with the Cricut are only limited by your imagination.

No computer is required to run the Cricut, just plug it in. Place your favorite cartridge in your Cricut and choose from hundreds of designs in an almost endless variety of sizes. Cutting customized shapes and alphabets has never been easier. And when you’re ready to take your creativity to even greater heights you’ll want to consider the power of Cricut Design Studio to allow you to build customized cutting projects. ".

I am very much into scrapbooking and I feel this is woth every penny :) Best of luck to you

Does anyone know where I can get Diorama materials in Singapore?

Does anyone know of a place in Singapore where I can get materials for a diorama (miniature landscape model)? I’ve tried Art friend but its more of paints and scrapbooking stuff there. I’m hoping someone can point me towards a shop specializing in art and craft materials who have a diorama range.

Try the hobby shops that sell to model railroad and other miniature hobbiests. These shops sell a lot of ready made props and materials to constuct landscapes, buildings, and other objects and scenes.

How can I use all the fonts installed on my computer?

There are many in the Windows-Fonts folder, but I can’t figure out how to use the ones that don’t show up in Word. I love to scrapbook, and fonts are really fun! Please help?

Go to the fonts folder

go to File>install new font

in the bottom left corner, navigate to C:\WINDOWS\Fonts

Then, after it populates the list at the top, find the font you want to install, click on it, then click OK. Restart MS Word.

Scrapbooking, scrapbooks: need tear bear templates or instructions?

Anyone of instructions on how to make tear bears from mulberry paper? I know there are other animals that can be made like these tear bears. I’d appreciate any info or recommended sites to get templates/instructions.

I have approx 30 different tear bear patterns and samples that I will happily sell you at a fraction of what they cost if you were to buy a book on them. I love making theses animals and they look great on scrapbook pages or cards or on most anything! Make sure you are using the thick handmade mulberry paper or you won’t get the effect that you want.

A question about my cricut scrapbooking machine?

I’m kind of new at this as I just got my Cricut Expression for Christmas. What I’m wondering is this:
I’m trying to cut small letters (using Calligraphy cartridge at about 1/2 inch.) and the paper keeps ripping. What is the best way to set the dials to prevent this? (The paper I’m using is just test paper.. the plain paper that comes in a scrapbook, so I don’t waste good paper)
Anyways, what are the best settings when cutting smaller shapes & letters on a normal sheet of paper — not too thick, not too thin??
Please include the actual blade setting, speed, and pressure settings & lots of details and tips if you have them. =)
Thank you so much!

try this
slow speed
pressure medium
blade 2
I have found the speed is important when I am cutting tiny letters and shapes. More so than any of the other settings.
Hope this helps you. Oh increase the blade depth if you use a thicker paper.
GOOD LUCK!

can anyone recommend a digital scrapbooking website with predesigned wedding pages or wedding kits?

Here is a link:

http://www.bisous.biz/catalog/layout_1_love.htm

If that one isn’t to your liking then there are many if you google
‘Wedding Scrapbooking’

Hope this helps.

I was wondering if anyone had any groovy scrapbooking ideas?

I have a whole bunch of loose-leaf recipes so I am making a cookbook scrapbook. I was merely curious if anyone had any neat ideas that I might incorporate. Thanks.

I don’t know how groovy it is, but I made a recipe/scrapbook and made some of the recipes in it and took a pic of the dish and journalled about some of them. Like one is my grandmas famous buttermilk biscuits and we used to gather @ her house b4 church on Sundays and everyone would eat Chocolate gravy n biscuits. Journalling can be an important part of the memory to whomever your passing this down to.

Where is the best place on the internet to get fantastic scrapbooking supplies?

I’m talking discounted prices here!

if you want cheap and aren’t looking for something specific go to ebay. they generally have good prices on a lot of things. since i’m always looking for specific items or brands, i often search a variety of sites: scrapbook.com, scrapgal.com, amillionlittlethings.com, scraplovers.com, and twopeasinabucket.com just to name a few. happy scrappin!

question about Cricut cartridges??

Please tell me how to use the "fall" and "winter" cartridges? How do you get all the detail…. meaning the different colors? Do you have to cut it out multiple times to get the look on the box? PLease tell me someone understands my question???

you can either cut muliple times on different colors and then piece them together or you can color it in. I think they piece them though. I found they do that in some of the ideas they have in the book that comes with the cartridge.

Are there scrapbooking stores in Tokyo or Yokohama?

I live in Korea and will briefly be in Tokyo and Yokohama this month. I am looking for scrapbooking supplies such as decorated pages, stickers and die-cuts. This is not a known hobby in Seoul but I am hoping that Japan has caught on since I was there 10 years ago. I know about the international order sites. I am just looking to peruse in an actual store.

Yuzawaya (ユザワヤ)is one of the biggest Japanese department store, specialised in handicrafts , art supplies, fabrics, and so on. Today I’ve just visited Yuzawaya in Kichijoji which is the nearest "Yuzawaya" from the central area of Tokyo. The shop is eight-story building and is located near the Kichijoji JR train station (1or 2 min. from the south exit of the train station). I’ve confirmed that they sell scrap-booking supplies at the art supply department, 6th floor of the building.
On the 6th floor, stickers and die-cuts are sold in the scrap-booking section, and special papers and decorated pages for scrap-booking are sold in the paper section.

*Kichijoji is a fashonable and very populer town in Tokyo for shopping, eating, and etc, and it takes only 15 min. from Shinjuku by train (JR Chuo-line).

P.S Tokyu hands shops also sell some scrapbooking supplies, they have shops in Shinjuku, Shibuya, and etc ( I visited the shops, to buy some livingwares, stationaries, but can not assume whether they have many line items for scrapbooking and worth visiting for the purpose.)
