Can you cut felt into shapes by using scissors?

Since felt seems to be the latest trend in the world of scrapbooking, I was wondering if you can cut felt sheets into shapes, for example, flowers, by just using a good pair of scissors rather than a die cutting machine?

Yes, use sharp ones, buy it special for cloth. One more thing, When using a pattern, make it out of sand paper so that the cloth sticks to the pattern. You will see how well it does. My mom showed me that when she did quilts.

I am interested in scrapbooking but how do i start and what should i scrapbook?

I would love to use materials and textiles in my work and also things like sequins and beads.
What are some good websites for inspiration?

I do only theme albums. Like our trip to disney or my daughter’s Sweet 16 birthday party. This way I have a beginning and end to the album.

Try your library. Mine has a lot of books on scrapbooking and 4 different magazines. You can check out old issues.

Anything that isn’t acid free, don’t let it touch any photo.

Anyone know where i can download the "Data 70" Font for free?

My Girlfriend is trying to create a Scrapbook for our 1st ever family holiday where we went with the kids to Euro Disney. We have some Buzz Lightyear pictures but the font that we need (Data 70) looks to cost £30. I’m not tight but really don’t want to pay this much for a one off use.

Does anyone know where i can download this font for free or of any alternative ones which look like the "DATA 70" one.

Here is a link to the font i am trying to get for free or an alternative too. Any help would be great. Cheers

Link: http://www.myfonts.com/search?params[boolean]=and&params[searchtype]=fonts&search[text]=data%2070

I did a search and I found what is called a "ParaAminobenzoic" font.

http://1001fonts.com/font_details.html?font_id=3066

I tried the link but it doesn’t print out, so go to
http://1001fonts.com and do a search for the above and take a look at it. It’s free.

What is the best scrapbooking template cutting sysem?

I am looking to find a cutting system for scrap booking that makes ovals and circles quick and easy for the left handed. I bought the Fiskas oval and circle templates but my left handed cutting produces less then perfect circles and ovals. Can anybody help me out? I really feel these shapes will add a lot to my scrapbook pages.

thanks so much

As far as basic shapes, like circles and ovals, I prefer the old fashioned method: Draw the shape from a regular plastic template on the back of the photo or card stock and cut it out with a pair of good scissors. I also have the Fiskars system, but found myself only using the plastic templates, not the cutting tool, and I would not risk cutting directly on the photograph. As for scrapbooking as a whole, I love the Sizzix system above all the others. It will cut through a variety of materials, and can be used for way more than just scrapbooking. They have circles, ovals, etc., but these shapes will not get as big as the ones in the Fiskars system.

What can i use to cut shapes for scrapbooking/card making?

I am really getting into scrapbooking and cardmaking..and i am soon going to get a cricut…but until that time i need something that will help me to cut out shapes like circles and such. and that will also help me to cut out pictures. I have seen something that i think might work at walmart, but am not sure…does anyone know what i can use to this these types of products?

There’s the Creative Memories cutting system (which I’ve heard good things about) the Coluzzle cutting system (which I use personally but it has its drawbacks) the Fiskars cutting system (not heard good things about).

Don’t know anything about the Stampin Up cutter though.

I would LOOOOOOOVE to get a Cricut but can’t justify the cost.

I also tend to buy really big punches.

Looking for MAC digital scrapbooking software that lets you download kits from ANYWHERE…help?

I downloaded ISCRAPBOOK for my MAC and love it…however, it will only let you download ISCRAP Kits and if you download any other kits, they won’t upload properly in the kit. I want a great program for the MAC but would like the versatility of purchasing and downloading kits from any website.
Thanks for any and all replies! :)

Try Adobe Photoshop Elements for Macintosh.

Can anyone give me some creative scrapbooking ideas?

Best scrapbooking supplies brand?

I really like creative memories albums but they are very expensive… Do you know any high quality scrapbooking products that are not so expensive?

I would stick with Creative Memories albums. Remember that you get what you pay for. I wouldn’t trust my photos and hard work to an inexpensive album.

Can you use the Cricut Cake cartridges on other Cricut machines?

I have a Cricut machine, but I’d like to try the Cake cartridges without buying the Cricut Cake machine. Thanks!

Sure can.

All of the Original cartridges will work with Cricut Cake, Cricut Expression, original Cricut and even the new Cricut Imagine. There are new Cricut Imagine cartridges that will work only with Imagine. (The Imagine has 2 ports. One for the Original and one for the Imagine Carts).

You don’t want to put food in your regular Cricut. The cool thing about Cake is that you can also cut cookie dough, fondant, even tortillas! How cool is that?

What are some fun types of Scrapbook Swaps?

I’m in an online scrapbooking group where we swap things through the mail. For example, 10 people each make 10 of the same page toppers and mail them to a hostess. The hostess mixes them up so that each person gets 1 of each back. It’s loads of fun and a great way to get new ideas. Our group also swaps paper-piecings, die-cuts, and tags. I’m helping to come up with new swap ideas for the group. What are some enjoyable scrapbooking swaps you’ve done in the past that might be fun for our group to try?

♥ ♥ thats something new to me, good idea though… have you thought of using colorbooks? There are some amazing pages in them just waiting to be scrapped..♥ ♥
