I just started using a Mac and I’m looking for a photo program that will allow me to crop a specific part of a picture and either paste it into another or erase the back ground. I used a scrapbook program on my window based PC but can’t find anything for the Mac. I know you can crop a photo using a square or template but I want to trace or select a specific part of the photo. For instance, I have a photo of my dog sitting on the floor. I want to cut out the photo of just the dog and paste it on another picture. Any ideas???
Corel’s "Paint Shop Pro" may have it. Can’t be sure.
Hope this helps.

Hi, I need a template for ‘In Loving Memory Of’.
Do you know where I can find a nice simple one?
Many thanks.
Try some of these sites. Page Maps has a variety of layouts. SplitCoast Stampers has lots of pages — both layouts and completed pages for inspiration.

I’ve looked EVERYWHERE and cannot find what I’m looking for. Basically I want a set of templates (square mainly, but also oval, circle, etc.) to use to place over my photos to use when cutting photos for my scrapbook. I HATE using my ruler and all the template I have found are too big. Does anyone have any ideas?
There are a lot of different cutting systems available with different templates to choose from. Here are just a few to check out:
There is the Coluzzle system with different templates you can buy. They have shapes, alphabets, envelopes and fun shapes. This system uses a special cutting knife that has a blade that swivels. You get a great cut every time. You purchase the starter kit and add on templates from there. The starter comes with a knife, mat and 2 templates. http://www.coluzzle.com/products/index.products.php?cl=coluzzle
Creative Memories sells the Custom Cutting System. They have circles, ovals and a few other shapes. They do not have a square one (probably because you can make squares easily with a paper trimmer). I like the Creative Memories system but you have to purchase them from a consultant. Look at their website to find one in your area. You would buy the starter set and add templates from there. http://www.creativememories.com/MainMenu/Our-products-and-services/Cropping-Tools/Custom-Cutting-System%e2%84%a2 I am in LOVE with their personal trimmer and ONLY use this for cropping my pictures! http://www.creativememories.com/MainMenu/Our-products-and-services/Cropping-Tools/Trimmers/Personal-Trimmer
EK Success makes a Curvy Cutter for circles and ovals. Again they don’t have squares or rectangles. http://www.scrapbookingswede.com/product_info.php?cPath=49_51&products_id=8021
At your local scrapbook/craft store, they will have cutters and trimmers to choose from. Just look around and ask for help when selecting as it can be overwhelming! Just keep in mind that squares and rectangles are harder to find because you can make those straight cuts with a trimmer. (The Coluzzle does have a square and rectangle though.)
I hope this helps you out some! Happy Scrapping.
just trace around your altoid box, then subtract about 1/4 inch all the way around, fold your paper into an acordian shape that would fit that template, then cut the edges , which are rounded, stick the back page into the inside of the lid if you want it to be a pull out, you could put a ribbon loop on the first page to pull on, stamp and draw , add paper and goodies, there you are. then you can collage the outside of the box if you like.
I want to put together a scrapbook for my mom for her birthday and I’ve had my mac for a short period of time but I love it and I want to use pages to create it. I want to make the page colorful. I know how to add color to text, highlight stuff, edit images, lines, and all of the stuff- I’ve actually started creating graphics for my school magazine but I have the problem that I don’t know how to make the entire page one color (or two colors flowing into one another). I don’t know whether it is possible to achieve but one of the templates (the Education scrapbook) does have it on it’s front cover. does anyone have any clue as to how to do it? It can be done with a text box but I was wondering is there any special function I’ve missed or any way to do it? Thanks.
You need what is known as a gradient fill. The information below is from Apple’s website:
Pages 3.0 Help (iWork ’08)
Filling an Object with Color
Use the Format Bar to quickly fill an object with a solid color or a color gradient, in which two colors gradually blend with each other. Select the object, click the Fill control in the Format Bar, and then select a fill color.
Use the Graphic Inspector to fill an object with a solid color or a color gradient, in which two colors gradually blend with each other.
To change an object’s fill color using the Graphic Inspector:
Select the object.
Click Inspector in the toolbar, and then click the Graphic Inspector button.
To apply a solid fill color, choose Color Fill from the Fill pop-up menu. Click the color well below the Fill pop-up menu to open the Colors window, and then select a color in the Colors window.
To fill an object with a color gradient, choose Gradient Fill from the Fill pop-up menu. Click each color well and choose each color in the Colors window.
To set a direction for the gradient, use the Angle wheel or field. To flip it horizontally or vertically, click the Angle arrow buttons.
To invert the gradient, click the double-headed arrow next to the color wells.

I am trying to make a scrapbook page with pictures and text. Does any one know of a program that has a template where you can insert photos and write in a text box? I have Nikon picture project, Micorsoft Picture Maker, Printmaster Gold Edition. Will any of these work? If so how? Or is there a free program that I can download off the internet that is user friendly and easy to use?
Thank You!!!!
The easiest way to create an online scrapbook is to use ScrapBlog.

Best of Luck. :0)
I have a webpage on blogger, and want to make scrapbook pages to put on it. I’m ready to purchase, and am looking at Scrapbook Max. Has anyone used this, or could you recommend another one that might be better? I want more than just a basic template thing, and this one seems good. I also MUST be able to copy it to my webpage when I’m done.
So, what are you using, and what are the pros and cons?
Experienced online scrapbookers, please respond, thank you so much!

It’s new and quite good.
Does anyone know if you can buy a software package that will make photo collages similar to the ones sold in portriat studios like JC Penney? I want drag and drop templates, but not cheesy postcard ones or busy scrapbook layouts, just simple templates where, for example you have one washed out photo in the back and several small ones along the side.
You can buy Photoshop and then go buy digital scrapbook templates that are sold at many digital scrapbook stores. Of course, Photoshop can be costly and there’s a big learning curve, but it’s what the professionals use.
scrapbooking stuff: templates, brass stencils, stamps, X cutter etc. Any kind of Harry Potter stuff. Lassie is a collie dog from a 60′s TV shows.
To find a store check out your phone book, it should have a list of Hobby/Crart Supplies Stores.
