Where can I find some recipe scrapbooking kits?

I’d look in places that carry scrapbooking supplies. There are usually binders and pages available for nearly any purpose. What I bought to make recipe scrapbooks are binders that hold plastic sleeves for 4" x 6" photos. Then I gesso’d the outside and painted my own cover and printed the recipes on blank 4" x 6" file cards.

Places that have the supplies and may also have kits with selected supplies include

Walmart
Target
Barnes & Noble
KMart
Ben Franklin Crafts Stores

You can also check online scrapbooking suppliers such as

Starting scrapbooking?

I ordered a scrapbooking kit. And got it in the mail today. What next?

You need to decided what photos will go in the album. And what album you will use.

For great ideas go to www.dennydavis.net. They have all sorts of ideas. I use that daily when I scrapbook.

Then, go to: www.mycmsite.com/marycluley then at the bottom right there is a "project center" with thousands of free ideas. Take some time to look around there and I just know you will be inspired!

Good luck! This is the BEST hobby ever!

do you know shabbyprincess and their scrapbooking digital kits? How i do i make them?
What kind of software do i need? do i need a camera? what kind of skill do i need? how much time?
Thankz!!

Hi!

A digital scrapbooking kit is a collection of coordinated digital products that you can use to create digital scrapbooking pages and albums.

Although kits differ in size, meaning how many pieces they include, most digital kits contain an assortment of digital papers and embellishments, and often include a digital alpha set as well. The pieces included in the kit coordinate together, allowing you to put together a coordinated page easily.

As you mentioned, Shabbyprincess carries digital scrapbooking kits, but they’re far from alone. There are many online shops that carry digital scrapbooking supplies, so shop around!

There are a number of software packages out there that you can use to create digital scrapbooking layouts. Photoshop Elements is probably the most popular software package used by digital scrappers. The good news is that it’s reasonable priced. There’s a bit of learning curve with the program, but once you know the program, it has features that will allow you lots of flexibility and creativity. Also, since Photoshop Elements is so popular, there are training videos and tutorials all over the web showing you how to use it.

As far as a digital camera goes, you don’t absolutely have to have one. But you do have to have digital photos to use on your layouts. Some people create digital images from printed photos by scanning them and then use the scanned, digital images on the layouts. But, the easiest way by far is to use a digital camera to take the photos to begin with.

Creating a digital scrapbooking page can be time consuming at first, but that time will decrease once you learn the software and get used to moving around in it.

Since you’re just getting into digital scrapbooking, you may want to try your hand at using quickpages at first. A quickpage is a pre-designed digital scrapbooking page that has a transparent frame or frames where you can add your own photos. I have quickpages on my site (http://scrappydigits.com/quickpages/) and some video tutorials (http://scrappydigits.com/learning-center/) that show how to get started using them. But, there are lots of places that sell quickpages online, so check them out.

Hope this helps and good luck!

In the Coolibah Digital Scrapbooking app for the iPhone, which kits are the free ones?

The gallery has a ton of kits, and most of them you have to pay for, but I know there are some free ones! Does anyone know where they are and what they are called?

All the free kits are located in the Gallery. You just have to flip through the kits to find them. They are all labeled with a blue FREE banner in the top left corner.

Digital Scrapbooking Kits?

I’m completely new to all this….but if I buy a digital scrapbooking kit…do I own the rights to what I create with it? Like if I use it to make my own blog background, do I own the rights to what I’ve created even though I bought the original pieces from someone else? Hope that makes sense and thanks for your help!

Yes, you can usually make personal use items from the kits you buy, you just can’t sell the items you make with the kits unless you have explicitly purchased a commercial license for that kit. Most digital scrapbooking kits come with a terms of use file you can read or check the website you bought it at for a link to the terms of use (usually at the bottom of the site or in the sidebar).

In the link below, at the bottom of that website page, you’ll see an example of a terms of use for digital scrapbooking downloads.

Hope that helps!

Any scrapbooking store should have what you need you may also want to check on Amazon they always have good deals on there. scrapbooking questions…?

a. approximately how much money do you spend making one scrapbook?

b. whats the best place to get inexpensive, but nice materials?

c. does anyone know of a good beginner’s scrapbooking kit with most of the materials i would need?

you dont need to answer all of my questions, any help is appreciated =]]

Cost depends on where you go. Hobby Lobby is the best place to go, if you have one near you. They have frequent sales, so wait for things to go 50% off.

Another place to try is the Dollar Tree. I get my adhesive there, as well as some paper and embellishments. They even have cardstock. Each store varies, and us scrapbookers clean them out often.

Big Lots also carries scrapbook supplies, and is a good place to get some of the designer stuff at a cheaper price. But again, scrapbookers clean them out too.

Mostly, if I want something specific, I go to my local scrapbook store, or online scrapbook store, like www.tallyscrapper.com and purchase them there. This is usually for "New" stuff, latest designs, etc. Tallyscrapper is great ’cause you can earn free product by getting points from others. I have gotten tons free there.

Hobby Lobby carries kits, with everything you need to start. Tool wise, you need a 12 inch trimmer (fiskers is good), a good pair of sharp scissors, adhesive, both wet and dry, pencil, and a ruler. Other tools are added bonuses, but you don’t "need" them.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I can give you some more online sites that carry quality stuff at cheap prices.
